i will be doing 3 events in Washington D.C. this week:
- on Tuesday, June 2nd Vegetate Restaurant will be hosting a ‘Vegan Soul Happy Hour’ from 6-8pm. I will sign copies of VSK, and there will be samples of food and drinks from the book. Admission is $15. to RSVP send an email to vegansoul[at]theroot.com.
- on Wednesday, June 3rd I will be giving a talk and signing at Busboys and Poets’ Shirlington store.
- on Thursday, June 4th I will be giving a talk and signing at Busboys and Poets’ 5th and K store.
me, renée, and ani
this morning i went to the ferry plaza farmer’s market in san francisco to see my friend and colleague ani phyo demonstrate the preperation of some recipes from her new book–ani’s raw food desserts. her spiced blueberry cobbler was off the Richter. the bonus was that i got to hang out and talk with our editor, renée sedliar.
after that i headed back to oakland to table at the annual malcolm x jazz festival put on by eastside arts alliance. was great seeing so many beautiful folks celebrating arts, culture, and the legacy of Malcolm X.
