while i was living in new york, i had read about Keba and saw his work in a few magazines. in the summer of 2005 i hired him to take one of the main press photos that i used when Grub came out the next year.
when i was working on VSK i knew that he would be the perfect photographer to capture some kids eating my “soul on ice pops.” so i hired him to take some shots in front of his cafe in berkeley and we got the perfect image for the book.
