Join Root Division as they celebrate a major milestone: 25 years of championing artists, building community, and investing in the creative future of the Bay Area. As Root Division’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Benefit Art Auction brings together collectors, artists, and supporters for an unforgettable evening of art and impact.

bryant donated Cotton as Witness, a Van Dyke brown print on cotton created in conjunction with his work What the Black Belt Carries, which onsiders cotton as both material and witness. Printed directly onto cotton using the historic Van Dyke brown photographic process, the image reflects on the agricultural landscapes of Alabama’s Black Belt and the intertwined histories of land, labor, memory, and transformation.
